Dec 21, 2017- Longest Night Service at 7pm
Our “Longest Night” service, which some churches refer to as a “Blue Christmas” gathering, is on Thursday night, December 21st at 7:00. This quiet and subdued service acknowledges that the holidays are difficult for some people, especially those dealing with the death of a loved one, facing life after divorce or separation, coping with the loss of a job, living with a disease, etc. A gathering like this helps to create a sacred space for people who are living through a season of darkness while also serving to remind us that Jesus came to be a light that shines in the darkness.
Dec 24, 2017- Christmas Eve Services:
Christmas Eve falls on a Sunday this year. We are offering two worship options on that day:
Mammoth Chapel at 6:30 PM
This will be our traditional Christmas Eve service. Both choirs (children and adults) will be singing and Pastor Jeff will be speaking. We are recruiting some men who will be available in the parking lot with flashlights to assist those who may have difficulty getting into or out of the building.
Gardiner Community Church at 3:30 PM
On the afternoon of the 24th we will also offer a scaled-down service at GCC for those who do not wish to drive to Mammoth that night. This will include the singing of carols and a message by Pastor Jeff.
There is no Sunday morning service on the 24th.
Worship at the Mammoth Chapel follows a liturgical format with singing of traditional hymns. Pastor Jeff Ballard delivers the message and is assisted by the Mammoth/Gardiner ACMNP team.
There are currently no regular services being held at the Mammoth Chapel this winter.
